GitHub is one of the most important tools in a developer’s life. It helps the developer to manage their codes, files, and projects in a systemic way.

For those who don’t know, GitHub is a code hosting platform for version control and collaboration. In simple terms, it is used to manage your codes files and also allows you to help others in their projects. It is founded in 2008 by Tom Preston-Werner, Chris Wanstrath, P. J. Hyett, and Scott Chacon.

But for beginners, GitHub can be pretty confusing. So, in this blog, I am going to share one repository which will help you to learn GitHub. This is not a promotion of any type but I used personally used this repository to learn GitHub.

The prerequisites are that you should have your GitHub Account and Git configured in your device.

Here’s the link to the repository – https://github.com/mazipan/hello-open-source

The first thing you need to do is to open the README file. There you will first get the list of languages (spoken) from which you can choose the required one. After the language list, you will see the instructions to be followed to contribute. These are the basic steps that a developer does to contribute to any project. There, you can follow the instructions to contribute.

This repository can be used as a beginner’s guide to GitHub and Git. So, don’t forget to save this repository for future reference.

Personal advice – You don’t need to add your original data as this is just to make you learn GitHub.

Thanks for reading my mini-blog hope it helps.
